2012 Riesling

Vineyard:

The remarkable snow capped Pisa Range landscape with glittering rivers (this was gold rush territory in the 1800s) produces very distinctive wines.

Grown at Pisa – a warm district of the Cromwell Basin, careful management of the vines kept crop levels low producing good quality small-berried fruit. The 2012 season was very typical for Central Otago with a long dry autumn allowing slow ripening - with the fruit going into the winery in excellent condition.

Winemakers Notes:

Colour: Pale Gold
Bouquet: Citris on the nose
Palate: The palate shows intense flavours of lime, honey and lemon sherbet with a lovely long finish. Good balance between acidity and sweetness.
Cellar: A medium-dry Riesling that is likely to improve with age. Cellar 5-7 years.
